The Secrets to Inkjet

In today's digital age, printers are essential tools for both personal and professional use. Inkjet is one of the most commonly used types of printers as it comes with a wide-range of benefits. Our iJetColor products provide lower costs, the ability to print on a wider range of materials and it is both profitable and versatile. We’re sharing some secrets to inkjet from our customers that can help your business grow!

Inkjet is the most profitable technology for short run profitable color.

Inkjet systems are designed to run many types of standard stocks under high speed long life inkjet print heads that lay down aqueous inks that dry on demand. This method produces high quality prints with sharp text and vibrant colors, making inkjet printers a good choice for printing photos, graphics, and other visual materials. Our iJetColor envelope printers can produce over thousands of envelopes on demand per hour with each image being unique. Unique DFE (digital front ends) provide industry capable color profiling including challenging brand and PMS color matching that is easy to use. They also use the latest technology inks formulated by HP which creates colorant particles that run throughout the base. The color particle size of these inks is larger than that of dye inks, making them more fade-resistant and water-safe. The HP TIJ (thermal inkjet) inks are certified for resistance to light, water and abrasion. This increased durability allows for a variety of substrates to be used from coated mailers to labels and packaging.

Secret #1: Cost Effective

“The iJetColor is the real deal. In 1.5 years we have put 4.2 million envelopes through it. We can push more work though in a day which means more dollars in your pocket.” says Travis Brown with Sisson Printing. Watch full testimonial here.

Inkjet printers are generally more cost-effective for low-volume printing, making them a good choice for small business users. Our products provide the lowest ink costs for short-run envelope production. The iJetColor 1175 and the iJetColor 1175 Pro basically speak for themselves! By shifting volumes of short to medium run offset work with higher-margin, full-color work while providing significant reductions in makeready, prepress, and press costs. Our rule of thumb is this: produce 32 orders per month of 1,000 envelopes each, at an average of $200 per order provides very rapid ROI’s on these systems.

Secret #2: Printing on Demand

“With the iJetColor everything is printed on demand and we no longer have to stock anything. Set up takes 10 minutes and the order is out the door the next day. Definitely the only way to go!” says Craig Hofer with Loris Printing. Watch full testimonial here.

With the growing market demanding more short-run, full color and more personalized print – we’ve seen how inkjet gives you and your customers really fast turnaround time. Inkjet printers are well suited for printing on demand, as they can produce high-quality prints quickly and efficiently. iJetColor products are faster, cheaper and do not have heat pressure that allows you to use lower quality envelopes without a minimum order quantity required. All you need is a PDF and you’re good to print! The ability to keep it in house with print-on-demand capabilities is single-handedly the most compelling reason customers are driving more and more work and print to inkjet. There is no faster solution now or in the future.

Secret #3: People are the key!

Most printers today still use their digital press operators to print envelopes and run all our other small press work on our Indigo and toner devices. According to the most recent What They Think Printing Outlook 2024 one of the biggest challenges to print operations are finding and developing great people. Thus printers constantly look for easy to use and productive equipment that can be operated by existing team members. Productivity and profitability require better use of existing labor. “With staffing being as challenging as it is, if I'm able to reduce our headcount in our small press / digital area and reassign to another challenging role in the plant, we win twice.” Says Greg Reust of Casey Printing.

In conclusion, there’s no secret to improving your print operations with the right inkjet equipment for the job.
